Hiatus = New Workouts + Fashion Hauls

So I took a break from the blogger world, but that does not mean I took a break from my fitness routine, eating healthy (most the time - damn vodka and wine!) and I have a bit of a vacation fashion haul as I have done a little bit of shopping for my trip to the Gulf of Florida. Speaking of which I leave in 8 days! Yay!!!

Ok, so fitness! I ran my first race of the year a couple weeks ago and I am proud to say I placed top three in my gender & age group at this 5K! There is always room for improvement though ;)

I am obsessed with the Nike + running app. I have an iphone 5 in a Lifeproof cover. So I purchased the Lifeproof armband around Valentine's Day while they were offering a discount. Those items can be found in the following link and not just for iphone 5, but for all iphones and ipads too.

While in a Lifeproof cover your phone is protected if dropped in water, snow and mud.

The Nike + app is free in your app store. It tracks your run so that when you are finished you can see the route you took. You can set it prior to your run to either run a distance, for a length of time, to reach a certain speed or to simply do a basic run that you can end at any time. The app will let you know when you have hit mile markers by speaking over your music in your earbuds. The voice will let you know the pace of your last mile and the overall pace of your run. Once you have finished your run you enter information of your run to be stored like what kind of surface you were running on (road, trail, beach, etc), how you felt about your run (indicated by emoticon faces) and which of your running shoes you were in so that you can track the miles in any given pair. Of course like most apps, you can link it with facebook and share your runs so that your friends can cheer you on during your run.

Last night I used my First Shot Free at Title Boxing Club to help me to decide whether or not to purchase the Groupon for two weeks of classes. I bought the groupon right after the class. It kicked my ass! And I loved it! There's a location close to me so I can run there for an hour long class and then run or walk (more likely walk) back home. It's high intensity and you don't stop. The instructor was hard core and encouraging, talking about getting us bikini ready. Once I get back from Florida and audition for a summer musical, I'll see what my schedule is like so I can decide when to start that two weeks. My only complaint is that they only offer a 6am kickboxing class on Fridays. The rest of the mornings it's boxing. With my busy schedule I need the 6am offering.

Fashion! And actually there will more to come with pictures as I did a little shopping last weekend with my Mom and intend to hunt of jean capris again this weekend before our trip.
I did just order this gauzy mint green infinity scarf from David & Young online.

Mint and coral seem to the colors of the spring and I absolutely adore mint green. There's something innocent and playful about it.

There will be more to come soon! Keep running! Remember a bad run is better than no run at all.
